SOARING smart-phone sales helped Vodafone to its biggest rise in UK revenue for three and a half years. It raked in pounds 1.26billion in the last three months of 2010. The 7% rise, the biggest since the second quarter of 2007, was driven by signing up 195,000 extra customers, taking the total to more than 19million. It boosted UK data revenue by 30%, helping offset a slight fall in money from calls.
